Short History of PWD
- 1986 Jay starts his swing and salsa dancing in the SF Bay area
- 1990 People Who Dance (PWD) was founded by Jay Byam & Tyoni Busch in
Bakersfield, California, USA>
- 1991 Jay started New Year's & Summer Dance Camp
- 1998 Jay adds MORE Salsa, with a full, separate ballroom dedicated to salsa
dancing
- 2000 Jay and People Who Dance move the Salsa Extravaganza Dance Camp to
the Doral Hotel in Palm Springs
- 2001 Summer Swing'n Dance Camp and Summer Salsa Extravaganza move to the
Wyndham Hotel Palm Springs. New Years Swing'n Dance Camp & Salsa Extravaganza
stay at the Doral Hotel, Palm Springs.
- 2004 Jay and People Who Dance rings into the the year 2005 at the 15th Annual
New Year's Dance Camp "Salsa Extravaganza" and Masquerade Ball!
- 2005 Zeanie Yoon officially joins People Who Dance as General Manager Event
Manager.
- 2005 Jay and Zeanie expands Cuban Salsa classes and officially inaugurates
"West Coast Casino Rueda Congress (Cuban Salsa Extravaganza)"
- 2007 Palm Springs Swing'n Dance Camp changes its name to Palm Springs Swing
Dance Classic & Dance Camp and rings into year 2008
- 2007 Palm Springs Swing Dance Classic and Salsa Extravaganza separates to
different weekends. Casino Rueda Congress remains with Salsa Extravaganza.
