What Pros Have to Say

"Dear Jay,

Your Instructing techniques for managing dance classes has helped me to become a more effective Salsa Instructor. Your approach to dance instruction is simple yet innovative and fun. I would highly recommend your teaching techniques to both the veteran instructor or the new teacher just starting out.

Thank you again for your time."

What Dancers Have to Say

Been to New Year's [Salsa Extravaganza] last year with my girl friend. We were sold on you. We would be fools to skip it this year. (Marco, Long Beach)

You are the one and the original. I tried others. I keep coming back (to Salsa Extravaganza) every year. That says it all, I think.

You guys are crazy. I had so much fun!

People at your events are so friendly and nice. No arrogant Salsa snobs. Even the famous Salsa snobs become good people at your event. What gives? There is something about Salsa Extravaganza!

Allow me to commend you on such an outstanding dance convention! Bravo! I have been traveling the country every other weekend for the past 6 years working and playing at numerous events in the Swing, Country, Hustle and Salsa circuit (and Ballroom too for that matter). To say the very least, your New Year's event in my opinion is of the top 5 best events I have ever attended! I would only think you receive lots of emails saying this same very thing, but do know as an event director myself that hearing this one more time is always pleasing to the ears!

I was fortunate enough to find the stars, sun and moon aligned just right to be in California just in the right time to be able to attend your event, and even more gracious that you freely took me in to share in the judging last weekend as well as all of the weekend festivities. You both were very warm and welcoming, as well as your staff and attendees. I felt right at home (just a few degrees warmer than the 10 degree I left)! Your personal announcement on Saturday night was more than surprising and moving especially when I realize you must have had a million other details you were tending to in order to keep the event running smoothly. Taking the time out to think of such a thing, and more so to follow through in making such an announcement, certainly has left me beaming ear to ear. Better yet, receiving an invitation to be on your Staff next year is an honor.

I have already announced in my classes what an amazing event you run, and hope to bring some of my student snow bunnies with me next year. I appreciate your detail in the dynamic decorations with the balloon etc. in both rooms. I am a BIG fan of decorating too and it definitely did not go unnoticed! The music was right on all weekend, and kept me up each night past 6am (not to mention the hot tub to follow right outside my room landing me in bed around 8am)! I am completely pooped to say the least, and looking forward to repeating every minute of it next year! I just got back yesterday morning from a full 24 hour door to door travel from the West to the East and worth every minute to be out there.

When you have your flyers ready, I would be ore than happy to bring them with me to the other important east coast events

I am sold on you! Viva La Salsa Extravaganza!

The best value I've ever had on my dollar! My Japanese friend got the best value on her Yen too!

It took almost 4 months for me to decide to go (to Salsa Extravaganza). It shouldn't have. Thank you for the wonderful time you gave us.

The great thing about Jay Byam's events is the energy that is created. Where others fail, Jay succeeds. He has the music pumped up at the right moments, he builds energy in the room anytime he is on the mic and best of all he attracts dancers who are truly in this to have some fun!

Hey Jay,

that was a great dance camp you put on. I learned a lot of really important tips from the professionals who taught classes, met lots of really nice people, and just had a great time!

Please send me the information for your summer camp as soon as it is available.
And, Happy New Year to you!
rae ellen

I cannot believe how much free stuff you are giving away! Loved your cocktail party, New Years eve surprises, and all the good stuff. Wow!

Hi Jay, wanted to first let you know that the links from the Suggestions and Comments on your website isn't working. Secondly, want to say Great Event! Especially wanted to let you know that we REALLY liked the Argentine Tango classes and the Hustle classes (especially with Steve). Hustle is definitely coming back! Hope they are both repeats for next time.

This really is the best AND the largest party I've ever been to! I am coming back over and over again! Thanks, Zeanie and Jay!

I just wanted to thank you for the Salsa Extravaganza. I really had a good time. I loved Josie's class. She's so wonderful! Liz Lira's Choreography class was a lot of fun too. I think what impressed me the most was the fact that the two of you took time out of your schedule (which I'm sure was hectic) to hold a seminar on Class Management. I've been to other competition weekends and I hardly ever saw the event organizers, but the two of you were very visible and available. That's impressive. Overall, I felt the whole weekend was very organized. The music was good and there was a great mix of teachers. The hotel was beautiful and the staff went above and beyond. They were extremely nice.

It was great meeting both of you. Best wishes and again, thanks,

Ellany Kincros

Who cares I cannot dance any more. I am still coming back. (This dancer, Rick broke his leg last autumn but still attended the event. Thanks, Rick for having a great time with us!)

Hi Jay ! We had another great event at your new year dance camp .
This has been my 4 th year in a row .
Keep dancing and have yourself a Fabulous new year .

Yours Jean-Guy Laferriere

I didn't want to go by myself. So I waited until the last minute. I ended up going by myself anyway. But when I got there, I was not alone! I met so many new friends, so many great people, and Jay and Zeanie and fabulous instructors and performers and everyone~

We all come together like a family at Salsa Extravaganza. Thanks to you.

Anyway hello. I must say I am especially proud of how you take care of us. You are not only good at your dancing, but you both are especially expressing your caring of us in so many ways. Thank you for being the teachers that you are. I really appreciate you both and look forward to many years of projects together. I can't wait for Palm Springs. Here we all go.

Blessings to you
Juanita Vega

Loved your instructors. They are not just empty big names. Your teaching background must have some effect on choosing instructors. Thanks for throwing a great party too.

We volunteered for your event for last two years. I didn't think I could have a good time while working but it wasn't work at all. Thanks for creating beautiful memories for us. You sure know how to throw a party.

Just a brief note to say that the event was superb... and getting better every year! Thank you for your ongoing commitment and dedication to the dance community, and for the professional entertainment being brought to us dancers. Feel free to pass this on to the ever-standing volunteers that make up your winning team.

The classes were fabulous. The variety is speechless. I sensed a hint of curriculum in your schedule. Very well organized! I felt like I was at school but only more FUUUNNN!

Oh the party, party, parties. Can it be more fun? I don't think so. Thanks and see you soon.

Your performance was a story itself. It was not just a line up. I really felt like I was watching a show. Great job, Zeanie. I talked to you at the event, but I want to put this in writing so that EVERYONE knows what a great job you all did. Let others know Sandy of Miami says any decent-minded dancers should come to your event and have a BLAST.

I really felt that your event belongs to dancers, not a big name who wants all the glory to himself..., or herself. This truly is DANCER' EVENT. Thank you. I will see you at the New Years, this time with my girl friend.

Hi Jay,
I just wanted to send a quick thank you email for this weekend. I had
tons of fun!! Everything was run so perfectly.
Also, I wanted to thank you for the prize money that you provided for the
All-Stars division.
Kelly Dye|

I assumed that your new years event would be the same as your summer event. I was wrong. I was very very wrong. Great program, great people, great shows, but totally different kind of fun. I will see you soon again.

Boy, don't I just think I'm the hottest thing since sliced bread! I better go put my head in some ice water now.

Well, I am proud of my event! BUT I can honestly say the MOST important thing about my event is YOU the dancers who come & have fun! Without you guys, it all means nothing!

Thanks Much!

Sincerely,

Your host, Jay B
