Christina Haggerty and Mike Ticas
Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

Mike has been dancing in the Los Angeles salsa scene since 1992. Christina's love for salsa brought her to Los Angeles in the year 2000. Mike and Christina met each other in Salsa In The Mix dance group where they traveled and performed for 5 years. These two choreograph dynamic dance numbers that combine many music and dance styles with lively salsa music and choreography. Their styles range from mysterious heavily themed routines such as Vogue (Salsa in the Mix), to more traditional salsa and Cha Cha Cha routines. All their shows captivate the audience with hair-raising tricks, lifts, dips and turn combinations.

Their hard work and dedication have paid off with performances in television & films; most recently seen on the CBS series "CANE." They love to travel to Salsa festivals, professional competitions and events all over the United States and abroad; their latest tour was to The Philippines, Thailand, and Australia. Currently, they keep busy performing and teaching in and out of Los Angeles to share their knowledge and spread their passion for music and dance.

Salsa Extravaganza is proud to present Christina and Mike every year at both Summer and New Year's Salsa Extravaganza.

Positive Energy Dance Company
San Diego, California, U.S.A.

Directed by Michael and Camille.

Michael Saltus, a navy brat, realized as a child how to adapt to each new environment his family moved into. This would help create the very outgoing personality he now has. As a child he would find discipline and a stong work ethic in the farm country. Here breaking horses would teach him balance later used for sports and dancing. But the most important reason he feels has helped him in his journey into the dance world is hitting the gym. The hard work and long hours here has given him a healthier life style and kept him injury free. It has also enabled him to play three sports in high school, two in college and dance still today. All the team experiences has taught him a lot with growth of his own dance company.......He would start dancing Western Jitterbug at the end of high school and into college. Thus, being introduced for the first time to tricks and lifts. While playing football and track for the Griz at the University of Montana, Michael started taking jazz for flexibility and balance. The UofM would also bring him a BA in Psychology and start him with his other passion, acting. It wasn't until he moved to San Diego that he started dancing and performing with the Pacific Repertoire Jazz and Ballet Company, here he learned par a deu (ballet partnering). It was also at this time he would venture more into acting and modeling. Over the next few years he would be with several different acting agencies. Experiencing student and independent films and commercials.......By 2000, he had given all these dances including ballroom a chance but it was salsa that would match his true energy and passion. His first night meeting Camille Yannantuono in a club was all it took to realize they fit. They would start competing and dancing daily and are still going strong today. Michael wanted to learn and grow from others so he joined several teams. Rumba Rica in 2002, followed by Majesty in Motion 2003 and Son y Pasos 2004. He would learn the philosophies and styles from each director for dancing on 1 and on 2........It wasn't until 2005 Michael and his partner Camille would start their own company, Positive Energy Dance. The company currently performs salsa as well as fusion of salsa with-Waltz, Argentina Tango, Swing, hip-hop and others. Positive Energy is one the largest Salsa Companies in San Diego with a total of 30 members and 5 choreographers. +Energy is also one of top performing companies with over 200 shows in less than 2 years.

Salsabor Y Caché
Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

Directed by Rogelio Moreno.

Salsabor Y Caché dance company was formed in 1997 when director, Rogelio Moreno was able to realize his long time aspiration to direct a company of salsa dancers. Rogelio took a unique approach to selecting his dancers and decided to recruit people that were mostly untrained and inexperienced, but were dedicated and had a strong love and passion for salsa music and dance. Dancers of diverse backgrounds and nationalities such as Cuban, Central American, South American, Mexican and American were selected to form what was to become one of the most successful and dynamic dance companies in the world.

Rogelio trained his dancers tirelessly and diligently, working late nights and many hours each week until his once novice dancers began to transform into skilled and confident performers. Rogelio’s success during this period was due in large part to his persistence as a director, his skill and unique talent as a choreographer and the will and of his dancers.

In July of 1998 the young but enthusiastic company had their first big break performing in front of thousands of people at the Puerto Rican Salsa Congress. As newcomers to Puerto Rico and the international salsa circuit, Salsabor Y Caché made an unforgettable impression, not only on the many spectators but also on the world’s best dancers, choreographers and promoters.

Today Salsabor Y Caché is known in the U.S. and internationally as one of the most unique, elegant and sought after dance companies in the world. The company has a broad and exciting repertoire that continues to grow, yet always exemplies the elegant style and feeling that Salsabor Y Caché has become famous for. Rogelio and Salsabor Y Caché continue to perform and teach throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and the US. The company’s dancers are now some of the most successful and in demand instructors and performers around. And while its dancers are no longer novices, Salsabor Y Caché maintains the belief that it is not just training, but also a true passion and love for salsa music and dance that makes the best dancers.

Rogelio’s inspired vision, creative spirit and ability as a dancer and choreographer continue to propel Salsabor Y Caché ever higher. Today Salsabor Y Caché takes pride in striving to embody what it was first named for; the true flavor and elegance of salsa.
